Avéli™ Cellulite Treatment

Cellulite is a fact of life for 90% of women, including those who are healthy and fit. Genetics, aging, hormonal changes, and weight gain also contribute to cellulite formation. But that doesn’t mean you have to settle for cellulite.

Avéli is a minimally invasive treatment option at our Tallahassee, Florida, practice that significantly diminishes unsightly dimples. The procedure is steadily gaining popularity because it delivers smoother skin and long-lasting results with minimal downtime.

How Does Avéli Work Against Cellulite?

Avéli targets the fibrous bands, known as septa, responsible for the dimpled appearance of cellulite on the buttocks and thighs. Our skilled surgeons insert a specialized device beneath the skin to precisely identify and cut these connective tissue bands, thereby releasing the tension that causes dimpling. Unlike other treatments that may only address the surface, Avéli directly targets the root cause of cellulite, providing smoother skin after just one session.

While Avéli effectively treats cellulite dimples in the hips, thighs, and buttocks, it is not a fat reduction treatment such as liposuction or a skin tightening solution such as Renuvion®.

Avéli Treatment: What to Expect

Understanding what to expect before, during, and after Avéli treatment sets you up for an optimal outcome. While every experience varies, here’s a general idea of what you can expect:

Preparing for Avéli:

Schedule your consultation with one of our Avéli specialists, board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. Ben Kirbo or Dr. Laurence Rosenberg. They’ll listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and help you determine if Avéli is right for you.

During your Avéli procedure:

Avéli is performed in-office and takes about an hour. We administer local anesthesia before inserting the handheld Avéli device underneath the skin. Most patients tolerate the treatment exceptionally well.

 After Avéli treatment:

It’s normal to experience some swelling and bruising in the treated areas. This typically resolves within a few days. While most patients immediately enjoy smoother skin after a single treatment, results continue to improve over time. A clinical study showed long-lasting cellulite improvement one year after Avéli treatment. Maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle helps maximize and prolong your results.

Am I a Good Candidate for Avéli?

Avéli’s approach offers significant benefits for women who feel self-conscious about dimpled skin. However, a personalized consultation with our providers is the best way to determine if you’re a good candidate for Avéli treatment.

Suitable candidates typically share the following characteristics:

  • Skin laxity and localized fat
  • Stable weight
  • Nonsmokers in good overall health

It is also important to have reasonable expectations for the procedure. Avéli can dramatically improve the appearance of cellulite but may not entirely eliminate it.
